§ 1-12. Certain ordinances, etc., not affected by Code.

  • Nothing in this Code or the ordinance adopting this Code shall be construed to repeal or otherwise affect the validity of any of the following:

    (1)

    Any act committed or done or any penalty or forfeiture incurred or any contract or right established or accruing before the effective date of this Code;

    (2)

    Any ordinance or resolution of the city promising or guaranteeing the payment of money by or to the city, or authorizing the issuance of any bonds of the city, or any evidence of the city's indebtedness, or any contract or obligation assumed or incurred by the city;

    (3)

    Any right or franchise granted by any ordinance or resolution to any person;

    (4)

    Any ordinance dedicating, naming, establishing, locating, relocating, opening, paving, widening, vacating, etc., any street or public way in the city;

    (5)

    Any ordinance making appropriations;

    (6)

    Any ordinance levying or imposing taxes;

    (7)

    Any ordinance providing for local improvements and making assessments therefor;

    (8)

    The zoning or subdivision ordinances, amendments and variances;

    (9)

    Any ordinance establishing, extending or otherwise affecting the boundaries of the city;

    (10)

    Any ordinance relating to employee classifications of the city or creating, abolishing, fixing the duties for or establishing the salary or other compensation for any city office or any position in the employment of the city, not inconsistent with this Code;

    (11)

    Any ordinance relating to the establishment, etc., of any municipal parking lot;

    (12)

    Any agreement, contract, or any ordinance reflecting such agreement or contract with the state regulating traffic on specific streets of the city;

    (13)

    Any ordinance adopting airport rules and regulations;

    (14)

    Any ordinance establishing election precincts or polling places;

    (15)

    Any temporary or special ordinance;

    and all such ordinances are hereby recognized as continuing in full force and effect to the same extent as if set out at length herein.
