§ 3-161. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this division, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Board means the Greenville-Washington County Electrical Board.

    Electrical installations means the practice, materials and fixtures used in the installation, maintenance, extension, and alteration of all electrical fixtures, appliances, and appurtenances in connection with public and private buildings, structures, and premises from the point of delivery by the public utility company to the inlet connections of the appliances.

    Journeyman means a person who has taken and passed a journeyman's test given by an appointed electrical board and/or SBCCI and is allowed to work under the supervision of a master electrician. A journeyman will not be allowed to obtain permits.

    Licensed electrical contractor (master electrician) means a person who has taken and passed a master's electrical test given by an appointed electrical board and/or SBCCI and is a specialist in electricity and is skilled in the planning, superintending and practical aspects of electrical installations and familiar with the law, rules and regulations governing the same.
