§ 8-16. Garage and rummage sales; permit required; number limited; penalty.

  • (a)

    No garage or rummage sale shall be held in a residential zone within the city without first obtaining a permit therefor from the planning department, and no such permit shall be good for a period in excess of three (3) consecutive days. Such permit shall be posted in a conspicuous place on the premises where the sale is being conducted.

    (b)

    No permit for a garage or rummage or estate sale shall be issued for any one (1) street address in a residential zone in the city for more than two (2) such sales during any one (1) calendar year with the second sale occurring no less than ninety (90) days after the first sale, and no such permit shall be transferable. In exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the planning director, this period may be altered.
